New Synopsis for The Huntress

Did Fairy Tales Ever Come True?
Doctor of Archaeology, Diana Garry, Director of the dig at the beautiful Renaissance Chateau of Chenonceau, was daydreaming as she sat behind her desk in one of the incident rooms.
She remembered back to her childhood when along with her two older sisters, their father would let them play unhindered in the grounds of their local castle at Corfe. They would take turns being the beautiful damsel in distress who was awaiting a dashing Knight in shining armour to whisk them away to his castle where he would turn out to be a dashing Prince and heir to the Kingdom.
But here in the grounds of the Chateau, a glimpse of the age of chivalry had been found in amongst the Roman remains. It shone a light on the life of Diane de Poitiers, a beautiful noblewoman who had turned the head of a young Prince who was himself the heir to the Kingdom of France.
“If only” muttered Diana to herself. She very much hoped that a handsome man would sweep her off of her feet now. She couldn’t see how that was going to happen. She was wed to her career and wandered from the dig site to dig site like a nomad. Romance hadn’t happened for her, and she somehow doubted that it ever had or ever would. But wouldn’t it be great to experience true love?
Oh to experience the thrills of such feelings, in the age of chivalry where Knights went away to fight distant wars and returned to the arms of their doting wives and girlfriends. The joie de vivre of l’amour. “Oh, yes, please!”
The voice of her mother echoed in her head “Be careful what you wish for, Diana!”
Book one of the Diana Garry series.
